Wood Block Printing
8.5”x 8.5”

During my study abroad in Japan, I got the chance to use water based ink to make wood block prints. It’s not usual to have multiple colors blended into each other on the same block in traditional Japanese Wood Block printing, but I gave it a try.

Share House

Wood Block Printing
9.25”x 13.25”

When thinking of sharing houses outside of the human world, coral may be one good example. Deep in the ocean, hundreds of species share one coral as their home, which creates an ecological community and makes every coral unique by itself. This print is trying to capture the richness of corals through vibrant color and form. Each print has gone through four wood blocks.
