BAM Next Wave

Identity/Editorial

BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music) is a multi-arts center located in Brooklyn, New York. As BAM’s biggest annual festival, BAM Next Wave showcases a series of emerging artists and innovative modern masters’ most updated performances.
The identity system of 2023–24 Next Wave Festival aims to “spotlight” the performers across diverse genres. Drawing inspiration from the luminance of stage spotlights, the visual representation was distilled into refined, slanted lines and a baseline shifted alignment of text, evoking a sense of dynamism.

Flyer/8.27 x 11.69”

Catalog/Open on double sides/38pp/6x8”

To separate the programs from the general information about the organization, the catalog is designed in a dos-à-dos structure which can be opened on both sides. Each program page adheres to the system, accentuating the title as the focal point while maintaining a distinct hierarchical structure that highlights the program details.
